Program Overview

Activation: 6th - Adult

Information technology (IT) is an ever-growing field that offers a range of exciting career opportunities. With the increasing reliance on technology in both personal and professional lives, the demand for IT professionals who know the basics of computer hardware and software is expected to continue growing in the years to come. This "computers for beginners" course makes IT a smart career choice for young children looking to pursue a fulfilling and financially rewarding career.

Program Highlights


Technical Skills: Building and troubleshooting PCs and other IT equipment. Students will learn hardware components, assembly, and maintenance.



Certifications: Preparing for IT certifications to enhance career prospects. Training for certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+.



Real-World Applications: Practical IT projects and problem-solving. Students will work on building a PC to experience real-world IT issues and case studies.



Networking: Opportunities to connect with IT professionals and companies. Guest lectures and networking events.



Workshops and Labs: Hands-on sessions to build and repair IT systems. Access to a fully equipped lab.

Resources & Certifications

Resources:

  • Access to a computer/gaming console with internet connectivity
  • IT tools and components (provided by the program) 
  • Access to a lab or workshop space (if available) 


Certifications:

  • 13+ required for CompTIA A+
  • Certificate of Completion in PC Build and IT Technology
  • Preparation for industry-recognized certifications (additional exams may be required)
